New Zealand Government has eased a few Work Visa rules during the lockdown period.

 

With the travel restrictions and downtime that most of the recruitment is not possible also there is no movement of New Zealanders. Operations including Visa offices are closed, there are lot of immigrants stuck in the country without visa extensions and pending for processing also have visas going to expire. With the work visa rules relaxed employers can make the best use of labour during alerts levels 3 and 4 and upto 6 weeks of time.

 

The changes apply to the essential services. While the change of role are already give to health, Super Markets, and age care workers the recent news includes other essential workers from utilities, education, financial services, construction and accommodation providers.

 

Highlights of the changes include

 

ü Student Visa holders can continue to work under the same employer and full time.

ü Employer – Specific workers are allowed to work with the same employer in any occupation

ü Work Visa holders are allowed to work in the same occupation with a different employer but in the same location / region.

 

All the changes will be allowed upto 6 weeks period.
