New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) has made changes to its products and services.
NZQA offices are closed from 25th March, Qualification Recognition services unit is working remotely and will continue to complete the application assessments.
Pre assessment Result (PAR) assessment is discontinued for Immigration purposes on 10th February 2020. Applicants required assessments for Immigration purpose can apply to International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
Applicatants ready with PAR assessments will be valid upto one year and can be used to submit the Expression of interest.
International Qualification Assessment (IQA), assess and compare overseas qualification to a level as per the New Zealand Qualification Frames work.
Occupations listed in the Skills Shortage Lists (SSL) are supposed to opt for SSL Assessment Add-on while making an application to IQA
IQA is not applicable for Qualifciation listed under List of Qualifications Exempt from assessment (LQEA), except if one is applying under SSL.
Teaching assessment Add-on is applicable if one is applying to register as a Teacher with the Teaching Council. NZQA maintains a list of of Pre Approved Overseas Teaching Qualifications, IQA is not applicable if the qualification is listed on the same.
Overseas Study Assessment (OSA) is applicable New Zealand Residents who completed their study outside NewZealadn and as required by Inland Revenue Department. This also assess and compares the qualification to a level of NZQF.
