The Government of Belarus has a pleasant gift for its Indian travelers. They can now stay in Belarus for five days without a visa. All they need is a valid passport with minimum six-month validity. Mikhail Portnoi, Belarusian Deputy Sports, and Tourism Minister said that soon a presidential decree will be signed which would let nationals of over 80 countries to stay in Belarus for five days. These countries include Australia, United Kingdom, India, New Zealand, and Canada. UAE passport holders have a privilege of staying in Belarus without a visa for 30 days. He said that it is a breakthrough step taken by the government to boost its tourism and the economy. Even though the government hasn’t announced from when this service will be available, Protnoi hopes that it is before the European Games that will be in 2019. Portnoi said that the government will extend its visa-free service to border checkpoints but only be keeping in mind Belarus’s national security. He also stated that there is a possibility of the Belarusian government offering visa-free travel not only for five days but for a longer time in the future. He said that government would take tourism step-by-step.
