In the last few decades, international students have regularly chosen English-speaking countries like the UK, the US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Martin Basiri, a former international student, who is now the CEO of Apply Board, said that students from all over the world prefer these countries because of the high quality of their universities and their wide range of available programs that cover many fields.
Again, these countries, especially the US and Canada give international students the opportunity the gain work experience when they are done with their studies. Lately, international students have been trooping to Canada to study. In contrast, the US and the other top-destination countries, have recorded a downward trend in international-student preference.
It is true that the US has the highest number of international students studying in its universities, but, the number is no more growing as a result of the limitations on US student visas lately. In Australia, there have been some safety issues, and in the UK, stricter immigration policies have redirected the attention of international students to Canada.
