A lot of asylum seekers are making their way through the Canada borders after the US have their claims as such the Canadian government has made a move to restrict such asylum seekers from entering the country. This crossings, especially through the US-Canada border, has become a controversial political issue. On Monday evening, amendments with regards to the law concerning such restrictions were introduced in the 392-page Omnibus budget bill of the Liberal government. Through the new law, the Immigration officers will be permitted to restrict asylum seekers whose claims have already been made in countries like New Zealand, US, UK, and Australia. This is because these countries and Canada already have an immigration information-sharing agreement. With these, there will neither be any oral hearing for an asylum seeker nor an independent tribunal appeal. However, those denied can write a pre-removal risk attempt for submission, but there is only a 3 percent success rate as expressed by Lawyer Kevin Wiener.
